KRIPALU YOGA is
a synthesis of traditional yoga approaches incorporating the practices of posture (asana), breathing (pranayama), and
meditation to still the mind and awaken the spirit inviting vitality in all areas of life.
In all Kripalu Yoga classes, we take time to warm-up the body before we begin the asana
or postures, incorporating breathing and enjoying an integrating period of relaxation. Benefits of practicing yoga include
increased energy and flexibility, strength and balance, mental and emotional focus, as well as learning life-tools for stress-reduction,
life balance and overall health and well-being!
Gentle classes
are appropriate for most beginners and offer extensive warm-up time for joints and flexibility with modified yoga postures.
Moderate classes offer longer holdings and more challenging posture sequences.
Dress in loose comfortable clothes, bring a yoga mat and try to arrive with an empty stomach. Yoga in Maine classes
are offer to a mixed-level of students. If you are a beginner, please call me at 774-1852 or contact me at
cook@midcoast.com before dropping in on a class.
